MANUAL THERAPY
Manual therapy is the synergistic application of movement-oriented strategies integrating exercise and manually applied mobilization and manipulation procedures. Typically, manual therapy comprises of hands on components of soft tissue mobilization (massage), Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilizations, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Nerve Gliding, Stretching, and Manual Resisted Exercises. Manual Therapy is one component of your plan of care and is used to supplement your active movements in order to move with greater efficiency and less pain.

Joint Mobilization: Gentle manipulation to improve joint function and reduce stiffness.

Soft Tissue Mobilization: Targeted pressure to release tension in muscles and connective tissues.

Myofascial Release: Techniques to alleviate restrictions in the fascia, promoting flexibility.

IASTM (Graston): Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization to address scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and enhance soft tissue healing.

REHABILITATION EXERCISE
Therapeutic exercises are prescribed exercises to help correct impairments, restore muscular and skeletal function, as well as maintain a state of well-being. Our
rehabilitation exercises are designed to address your unique needs and goals. Through a combination of targeted stretches, strengthening exercises, and functional
movements, we aim to enhance your body's ability to heal and to improve your activities of daily living.
Our skilled therapists will assess your condition, monitor your progress, and adjust your exercises accordingly to ensure a safe and effective recovery process. Therapeutic exercise helps improve cardiovascular function, muscular strength, muscular endurance, reduces fall risk, improves mobility and improves pain. Typically, therapeutic
exercise involves use of recumbent bike, elliptical, resistance bands, weight training and balance work.

At Poulsbo Physical Therapy, we prioritize pain management in order to enhance your overall function. Our therapists employ a multidisciplinary approach, tailoring treatment plans to address your unique needs. Our goal is not just to manage your pain, but to identify and address the root causes, promoting long-term relief. We educate our patients with self-care techniques, ergonomic adjustments, and lifestyle modifications to
help sustained pain management. Our providers incorporate a diverse range of modalities including: Cryo therapies (cold), heat therapy, ultrasound, cold laser,
electrical stimulation, traction, KT tape, and cupping therapy.
